How a portrait session actually unfolds
A walk through what happens before, during, and after a considered portrait session — including the parts clients don't usually see.
Before the session
Every portrait session starts with a conversation — usually by message, sometimes by call. We talk about who the portraits are for, how they'll be used, and what you'd like them to feel like. We also ask about practical things: where the session will happen, who will be in the room, what you'd like to wear.
This is the most useful part of the process. It shapes everything that comes next.
On the day
We arrive a little early to look at the light. The session itself is unhurried — typically 60 to 90 minutes for an individual, longer for teams. We work in short bursts rather than continuous shooting, which gives you time to relax between takes.
After
We edit on paper first. A small selection is shared with you for review, then we retouch the final picks and deliver. Typical turnaround is about a week, sometimes faster for short sessions.
