A two-day celebration, photographed quietly.

How we approached a wedding that didn't want wedding photography.

The brief

"Photograph it without it feeling like wedding photography." The couple wanted documentation of the people and the moments, not a styled album of posed portraits. We agreed on a simple shape: two days, documentary style, no formal shots, no group photos, no second shooter.

The approach

We worked in small, unhurried bursts. We sat down when it made sense to sit down. We let people come to us. We made a long list of moments we wanted to be ready for — first look, family hello, the walk between venues, the speeches, the dancing — and otherwise stayed out of the way.

The edit

We edited on paper before we opened a developer's catalogue. About 1,400 selects were narrowed to 380, then retouched lightly and delivered as an online gallery plus high-res files.

What worked

Brief-led planning before the day. Unhurried shooting during. Considered editing after. The shape of the work was predictable from start to finish, which freed the day to feel like what it was.
